Dance Recital Spring 2009

Layci had a dance recital last month ( I know I am really bad at keeping this blog up to date....Im trying!)  The theme was dances around the world.  The first ballet number she did was the oriental fan dance.  It was so cute to see all the girls dressed up and dancing with their little fans.

The 2nd dance was for her tap number and it was the Mexican hat dance.  I love this picture. We took it in front of my Dogwood tree all in bloom.

Haydens Spring Soccer

Hayden Played Spring Soccer this year. He seemed to have alot of fun. It was really fun watching him get in there to try to get the ball. He hated playing goalie though. I gave him a faux hawk this year and he thought he was pretty cool.

A Day at the Temple!

A few weekends ago, we were able to go to Salt Lake and See My in-laws sealed in the Jordan River Temple. It was such a sweet spiritual experience. My father in-law Gene has been re-activated and decided it was time for him to finally go through the temple. It was Wonderful to see Gene and Delore, Greg and Kent (Gregs Older Brother) there. It was an amazing experience. I am so grateful and glad we were able to go and see this Blessing take place!

My Garden!

This Year We decided to make a garden spot in our back yard....This is what it looked liked when we started. We started to dig up the sod by hand and gave up quickly. I got smart and told Greg to go rent a sod cutter. That was soooo Much easier. I decided to try the square foot garden method.

To the right of the garden boxes next to the house I have tomatoes and zucchini planted. Back by the fence I have cucumbers and cantalope and another tomatoe plant.
This is the finished project. Now I am going to sit back and see what grows.....Hopefully everything I have planted. So far the corn and radishes are coming up! Its been alot of work but very rewarding!

Layci's New Room

This Last weekend I decided I wanted to redo Layci's room. Well what that really means is that Greg has to help me!!! He doesn't really like all of my projects, but he does go along with them :) What a good Husband. We put beadboard up and the chair rail and painted the whole room. That pink is sooo cute but after 4 coats it finally covered! I really love how this turned out. I wish I had a room like this now! tee hee.I think her favorite part of the room is her hopscotch rug. she will jump and jump for hours! I am really proud of how good it turned out. Plus, she loves it!

Layci's Princess Birthday Party

What a super fun day! We had a Princess party for Layci's 6th B-day. She invited Friends from school and church. My Sister and I painted all the girls faces and I did Princess hair on them. They all got a crown and a picture in front of the Castle.
This is the group Picture of all of the Girls. They were all so cute dressed up in their Princess Dresses. They all truly felt like Princesses.
This is My attemp at a cake again this year. Of course, It didn't turn out like I wanted it to, but Layci loved it. She picked all the colors and what she wanted it to look like. At least it tasted good!
